Explanation of the workshop

Time of welcoming and telling the scenario of our workshop to explain them how the day will be organized.

FIRST APPROACH OF THE TOOLKIT

We made two groups of two students one was blind-folded and never saw the toolkit until the end of the workshop to put them in the same situation as blind people without visual marks. During this first approach, people touched the board, the different pieces, they could try to have an idea of the size and the scale of each elements,...

After the first approach we went to the MENSA to make our sensory explorations. We explain how the experience will happen and what is the goal of it. Through this exploration we wanted to make people aware of blindness and how they can explore a space without visual senses.

To guide people during the exploration we designed some cards which allow to make people focus on some of their senses by touching, smelling, listening and also by trying to measure the space with their own bodies.

GET FEEDBACKS

After the exploration of the toolkit we took time to debate, discuss about their feelings. It was a good way to get some comments positives or negatives and collect them to improve later this toolkit.
